Abstract
Computer model of the fragment of human immunogammaglobulin, which interacts with specific receptors on the surface of a variety of cells. Oligosaccharide structures (blue, red, and yellow) lie along the outer surface of the protein (green) portion of this glycoprotein. Narasingha Rao, of the Dept. of Biology, John Hopkins University, (Baltimore, MD), created this model using coordinates provided by the Protein Data Bank of Brookhaven National Laboratory (Upyon, NY) and photographed on an Evans & Sutherland graphics terminal.
